Last day before Spring Break! We had GAME DAY today. Student wrote a short reflection about how their game had to do with math and/or problem solving.

1. We did four more graphing stories
2. Then we watched a short video on Misleading Graphs 3. Then we did an activity where we critiqued graphs that were misleading! Today we reflected back on our airplanes from yesterday. Then we each made two different models and attempted to fly them down the hallway.
We kept track of how far each model went (in feet) Then we put all of the data up on the board, and each group made a different graph on whiteboards to represent the data. They turned out great! And we were all surprised to see that the simplest most common type of plane design was the best for distance. 1. We went through some video/graph activities called "Graphing Stories" where we attempted to draw a graph of what was happening in the video.
2. We had a discussion about graphs and how they are relevant in our lives and that we see them everywhere. 3. We finished off the class testing out different models of paper airplanes for our activity tomorrow. Today some of you finished off your coordinate picture swap
The rest of you who completed your's on time on Friday were doing my Skyscraper Sudoku activity! Nice work and awesome progress with this! :) Coordinates and pictures were due today.
Those who finished on time switched coordinates and attempted to draw one another's to see if the coordinates work! :) Great job you guys. This was the last day to finish coordinate project - we will draw each other's tomorrow!
Today we continued our coordinate pictures. Last day of these will be tomorrow. They are looking great!
Today we started a project making coordinate grid pictures!
Each student is to come up with a picture, then plot points on that picture and create sets of ordered pairs so that another student will be able to recreate the original drawing! We will continue this tomorrow. :) 1. Would you rather - pizza slice question!
2. Today we each came up with a question that had multiple answers, then we polled the class, then reviewed our data and decided how to best graph it, then we graphed the data, then we calculated the mean, median, mode and range! 3. To finish off, we continued our coordinate pictures. You guys are doing great with these! |
